Zimbabwe, a country who's people were suffering for years due to poor country managment. Once the country had an important role within the African continent but Zimbabwe lost it all. Now the tables are turning again due to many changes for the good for the very friendly people of Zimbabwe and they deserve a better and safer country which is it again. Many accommodations are re-opening and tourists find their way back to beautiful Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe stil has hunting areas but nearly all African countries have areas like this. Affordable Africa Safaris guarantee no hunting safaris available !!! The main places to visit in Zimbabwe are the mighty Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya/the smoke that thunders), Hwange National Park (only 3 hours from Victoria Falls), Lake Kariba and Mana Pools National Park but also Zimbabwes capital Harare is worth a visit.
The Victoria Falls are more than 1700 meters wide and over 100 meters high. Walking the trails is a must do and seeing the Victoria Falls from the bridge (free of charge) between Zimbabwe and Zambia is amazing. For those who need a higher blood level they can bungee from the bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia or they can do the enormous swing from the bridge. The best overview over the Victoria Falls is from a helicopter or ultra-light aircraft. We can arrange these activities with Affordable Africa Safaris for you in advance so you can prepare yourself at home for this kick.
Zimbabwe has beautiful game reserves like Hwange National Park (14.650 squere kilometers) and Mana Pools (2.196 squre kilometers). Kayaking the mighty Zambezi River is a unique experience. Together with an experienced guide you kayak down stream and on the river you feel the rivers power. While kayaking the Zambezi River you can see hippos and elephants closer by then you could ever imagine and the good thing about this kayaking is that you can do it with your kids. It is a child friendly activity because you are in the good hands of an experienced guide. Affordable Africa Safaris can plan your trip through Zimbabwe including some kayaking days (sleeping in tents on sandy islands in the river) or just as a day activity and sleep in the safety of your accommodation but imagine that you wake up around 0600 o'clock in your tent which is situated next to the river bank and you open your eyes and outside the sun is rising (nice orange, yellow coloured) and your guide is already out of his tent and he is making camp fire for a nice morning coffee/tea. You get out of your tent and you see a little bit further down the river some elephant drinking from the river and minutes later they decide to cross the river so they swim across the Zambezi River. You sit down and watch and listen to all this and the only thing you hear is the calm water, the wood on the fire and some birds. This is just heaven and all possible in Zimbabwe.
This are just some Zimbabwe facts because there is so much more to explore in this country and we (Affordable Africa Safaris) have some specialized agents who can prepare your holiday like no-one else.
